A cause worth supporting

Digital Accessibility

Technology should help people participate—not create barriers that keep them out.

Why this matters

As I study computer science, one important idea is that websites and applications should be usable by as many people as possible. People have different needs, abilities, and ways of interacting with technology. Thoughtful design can make a real difference.

Digital accessibility can include readable text, keyboard-friendly navigation, captions for videos, helpful image descriptions, and clear page structure. Small decisions like these can help make the internet more welcoming and useful.

My goal

To keep accessibility in mind as I learn to build digital tools and websites.

How we can help

  1. Use accessible design. Write clear headings, choose readable colors, and make sure sites work with a keyboard.
  2. Make content easier to access. Add meaningful alternative text to images and captions to videos.
  3. Learn and share. Read the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative resources and encourage others to consider accessibility.
